History of Greater New Solomon Temple
Solomon Temple Church Of God In Christ Was Founded By The Late Elder C. E. Solomon Over 71 Years Ago. After Receiving The Holy Ghost In The Military, He Returned To Korhville, Texas And Began Holding Services In His Home. October 1947, Elder Solomon Alone With A Small Group Of Followers Started Construction Of A Small Facility That Was Named Solomon Temple Power House.
As The Church Grew, The Facility Was Reconstructed To Accommodate The Growth And Shortly Afterward Elder Solomon Relinquished His Stand As Pastor, Which Allowed The Church To Be Under The Leadership Of Several Men Of God.
In 1980, The Late Elder Eddie Toppen Jr. Was Appointed Pastor By Elder C. E. Solomon. During Elder Toppen’s Time Of Service, He Accomplished Many Things, Which Included Changing The Name Of The Church To Greater New Solomon Temple Church Of God In Christ, Construction Of The New Sanctuary And Fellowship Hall.
Following Superintendent Toppen’s Retirement, On January 1, 2018, The Late Elder Willie Morgan Jr., Was Appointed Pastor By The Late Bishop Samuel E. Iglehart, Prelate Of The Texas Southwest Jurisdiction Of The Church Of God In Christ. Prior To Pastor Morgan’s Demise, The Church Advanced Spiritually And Naturally Under His Leadership.
April 2022, Elder Eric Wade Lewis Ii Was Appointed Pastor Of New Greater Solomon Temple Church Of God In Christ By Bishop Marice Green Ii, Prelate Of Texas Southwest First Jurisdiction.
